Create Your Own URL Shortening Service

Postby Nadine on Fri Jan 22, 2010 1:36 am

Hi All

This is probably for the more advanced AND it is NOT my affiliate link -

I subscribe to HTML Goodies To Go and it came from one of their articles (freely available on their site: http://e-newsletters.internet.com/)

http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/php/article.php/3859411

All instructions are included in the article, including a direct download link to the software to install.

Hope it is of use to someone :!:

Best wishes
Nadine

Thanks, Nadine

Some months ago, I paid $67 for a script which did a similar thing. But, although I installed it - and bought a domain name - I never got around to using it.

Yet another unfinished project :(

Hi Ian

Welcome back! Well rested, I trust :?:

We all have plenty of those 'unfinished projects' - I bet I have more than you do
This year my objective is to reduce this list, buy less and earn more

I look fwd to seeing your latest travel pics - you could pass as a freelance photographer.
Your pics are top class :!:

Regards
Nadine

URL Shortening Services Are Holding You Hostage - Fight Back!

Willie Crawford recently sent out a note in his newsletter about URL Shortening Services Are Holding You Hostage - Fight Back!
This looks likes his own product and costs $35 (not my affiliate link) http://YourOwnShortUrl.com

I've been using http://www.BudUrl.com which does have an upgrade

But with any of these URL shortening Services they can go out of business or decide to start charging for their once FREE service.

Hi Nadine
I would have been interested in this but having studied 3 different sets of how to videos
- I've just changed all my pages on my website over to redirects :ugeek:
Yes I know - it's taken me a long time but I got there in the end :!:
Why 3 sets of videos you may ask :?:
Because I found it all so confusing - little tiny bits in each video I didn't get -
but put all 3 sets together- and hey presto

quote of the year ...." Einstein - I am Not

Graham

Hi Graham

Glad to see you active in the forum again :D

Unfortunately, the learning process can be painful and tedious :?

I have no doubt that we all go down the same paths and make the same mistakes - but I guess that is where our growth is, for those who keep moving forward.

Best wishes to you

Hi Nadine
Thanks, I have been checking in to the forum but in the unearthly hours of the morning and haven't had much time,
just a quick check on current new posts.
I've only just finished uploading all the new pages to my site (29pp now)
There's never another time is there?
regards
Graham
